Archbishop Carroll football standout Alejandro Isaza is the Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Isaza, a senior, ran for 186 yards and five touchdowns on only nine carries to lead the Bulldogs to a 49-14 win over Somerset South Homestead.
On the season, Isaza has rushed for 676 yards and 15 touchdowns on 61 carries — an 11.1 yards per carry average — while also catching six passes for 100 yards and another touchdown.
Archbishop Carroll is 5-1 entering its game Friday against Coral Shores.
Doral Academy girls’ volleyball’s Melissa Gonzalez, Miami Central football’s Armando Blount, Miami Palmetto boys’ bowling’s Evan Viener and Homestead football’s Isaac Brown rounded out this week’s participants.
