Results are in. True North basketball standout voted Dade High School Athlete of the Week
True North boys’ basketball’s Jasen ‘J-Roc’ Lopez is the Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Lopez, a freshman guard, scored 46 points and had eight rebounds, six steals, five assists and two blocks in a win over Chaminade-Madonna on Jan. 25.
On the season, Lopez is averaging 21.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 4.6 steals per game. True North is 19-5 on the season.
Ransom Everglades boys’ basketball’s Daniel Ribiero, Columbus boys’ basketball’s Cameron Boozer, Miami High girls’ basketball’s Joelle Wilson and Coral Gables girls’ soccer’s Helena Macedo rounded out this week’s participants.
The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — now one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
