Results are in. Carrollton girls’ basketball standout voted Dade High School Athlete of the Week
Carrollton girls’ basketball’s Sofia Travieso is the Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Travieso, a senior, set a single-game school record with 43 points in a 63-45 win over St. Brendan on Jan. 10. She also had 10 rebounds and three blocks on the win.
Carrollton is 10-4 so far this season.
Palmetto girls’ soccer’s Stevie Ricklick, Ransom Everglades boys’ basketball’s Daniel Ribiero an Miami Beach boys’ soccer’s Matthew Bird rounded out this week’s participants.
The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — now one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
