Tru Prep football’s Clay Thevenin is the Miami-Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Thevenin ran for 60 of his 122 yards on the team’s game-sealing drive to lead the Private School All-Stars to a 22-8 win over the Public School All-Stars in the 13th annual Private vs. Public All-Star Game.

Columbus boys’ basketball’s Cameron Boozer, North Miami girls’ basketball’s Ja’Dore Hayes and Miami Beach boys’ soccer’s Tommaso Polidori rounded out this week’s participants.

The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — now one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
