Results are in. Columbus standout is fans’ choice for top Dade golfer
Columbus’ Christian Figueredo is the fans’ choice for top golfer in Dade for the 2022 season, as voted on by readers.
Figueredo, a senior, tied for seventh individually at the Class 3A championship to help Columbus to a runner-up team finish. He also tied for second at Greater Miami Athletic Conference championship.
Figueredo is signed to play collegiately with Florida Gulf Coast.
More than 54,000 votes were cast in the poll, with Figueredo receiving 37 percent of the votes. Belen Jesuit’s Lorenzo Rodriguez, Carrollton’s Fernanda Carrion, Divine Savior’s Nicole Sardinha and Columbus’ Max Fonseca rounded out the top-five vote getters.
All players who were on the Miami Herald’s All-County first team were listed on the ballot.
Florida Christian’s Nicholas Prieto and Palmer Trinity’s Remi Bacardi were previously named the Miami Herald’s boys’ and girls’ golf players of the year for this season.
