South Dade gets physical in win over Palmetto
Johnnie Hankins dug his cleats into the ground and carried jersey-tugging defenders into the end zone to kick-start South Dade’s 41-20 win against Palmetto on Friday at Tropical Park.
“We wanted to be more physical and aggressive,” Buccaneers coach Nathaniel Hudson said.
South Dade (3-1, 1-0 District 16-8A) scored 28 unanswered points, including a 37-yard Marquise Parnell interception return to make it 41-8 at halftime over the Panthers (0-3, 0-1).
P.J. Coats was 12-of-18 passing for 168 passing yards. Hankins had six carries for 88 yards rushing. Darius Flowers had two touchdown grabs.
