Miami Springs breezes to 4-0 start to its football season

It wasn’t supposed to be close and the Miami Springs Golden Hawks made sure it wasn’t Friday night as they won their District 16-7A opener in easy fashion, 48-0 at Milander Stadium.

The Hawks, who are out to their first 4-0 start since 1993, were led by quarterback Gerald Anderson, who completed 10 of 14 passes for 249 yards and four touchdown passes: 54 yards to Johnny Rembert, 15 to David Bradley, 22 to Jahwon Grant and 70 to James Howard.

It’s been a rough start for Westland which fell to 0-4, 0-1, and has yet to score while giving up 194 points.
