Jordan Scarlett, Deltron Sands fuel St. Thomas Aquinas’ run game in victory

Jordan Scarlett rushed for three scores and the Raiders defense earned its fourth shutout in five games at Cooper City on Friday.

The Raiders (7-1, 3-0 Dist. 15-7A) locked up a playoff berth, derailing the Spartans’ (4-4, 2-2) postseason hopes in the process with a 48-0 victory. The district title will be decided next Friday when St. Thomas hosts Plantation.

The Raiders outscored their last four opponents 226-7 and showed no signs of slowing down against the Spartans. St. Thomas stormed out to a 21-0 lead behind a Deltron Sands scoring run and two touchdowns from Scarlett, the University of Miami commit who finished with an efficient 151 yards rushing on just 10 carries.
