Results are in. Aquinas water polo standout voted Broward High School Athlete of the Week
St. Thomas Aquinas water polo standout Samuel Eastaugh is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Eastaugh, a sophomore, had a combined 11 goals, eight assists and six steals to lead the Raiders back to state following wins over Western, Cooper City and Miami Country Day.
On the season, Eastaugh has scored 107 goals while adding 60 assists and 47 steals.
The Raiders are 16-12 entering their state semifinal against Orlando Dr. Phillips.
Western softball’s Arlette Caravaca, American Heritage softball’s Bria Villano and Calvary Christian baseball’s Aaron Vetter rounded out this week’s participants.
The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
