Results are in. Dillard track standout voted Broward High School Athlete of the Week

Dillard track standout Christiana Coleman is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Coleman, a senior, won four events - 4x800 relay (8:58.74), 800 (2:12.45), 1600 (4:58.61) and 3200 (11:20.16) - to help the Panthers win the BCAA track and field championship.

She will look to continue her run of success in the postseason with district meets taking place between April 24-27 and April 29-May 2 , regionals May 7-8 and state meets May 15-18 (with Class 3A, in which Dillard competes, going on May 17).

Taravella baseball’s Johnny Lopez, North Broward Prep baseball’s Mateo Gray and Westminster Academy baseball’s JC Hernandez rounded out this week’s participants.

The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
