Results are in. Taravella baseball standout voted Broward High School Athlete of the Week

Taravella baseball standout Javier Miranda is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Miranda tossed a two-hitter, striking out four to lead the Trojans to a 3-0 win over Orlando Olympia.

Taravella is 13-5 on the season.

Westminster Academy baseball’s Colin Cartagena, North Broward Prep baseball’s Mateo Gray and Western baseball’s Zach Beyra rounded out this week’s participants.

The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
