McArthur baseball standout Devin Grazzal is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Grazzal threw a two-hitter, striking out four to lead the Mustangs to a 4-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas.
On the season, Grazzal is 2-1 with a 3.21 ERA and 20 strikeouts over 24 innings in five starts. He has thrown two complete games. Grazzal is also hitting .256 (10 for 39) with seven RBI and 10 runs scored.
McArthur on the season is 11-3.
St. Thomas Aquinas baseball’s Zachary Malvasio, Western softball’s Jade Castillo and Somerset Academy boys’ track and field’s Kaj Baker rounded out this week’s participants.
The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
