Results are in. Taravella baseball standout voted Broward High School Athlete of the Week
Taravella’s baseball standout EJ Burns is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Burns threw a one-hitter, striking out five during a 1-0 win over NSU University School. Burns also went 1 for 2 with a double and two runs in a 7-4 win over Flanagan.
On the season, Taravella is 10-3. Burns is 3-0 on the mound with a 1.24 ERA and 13 strikeouts against five walks over 17 innings pitched. At the plate, Burns is hitting .282 (11 for 39) with two doubles, five RBI and 11 runs scored.
Flanagan baseball’s Bruno Shafer, South Broward baseball’s Keniel Marrero and South Plantation softball’s Kylee Reaves rounded out this week’s participants.
