American Heritage girls’ basketball standout Jasleen Green is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Green, a sophomore, had a combined 41 combined points to lead the Patriots to a win over Daytona Beach Mainland and their sixth state title in the past seven seasons.

For the season, Green led American Heritage with 17.2 points per game while also logging an average of 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals per outing.

St. Thomas Aquinas girls’ basketball’s Khadee Hession, Pembroke Pines Charter boys’ basketball’s Jeremy Elyzee, NSU University School baseball’s Rocco Rovetto and Flanagan baseball’s Richard Bello rounded out this week’s participants.

The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
