Rick Ross’ son, who started at St. Thomas Aquinas, announces college football decision

William Roberts III, an offensive lineman Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas and the son of rapper Rick Ross, has made his college decision.

Roberts over the weekend announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he has orally committed to play at Bethune-Cookman University, a Historically Black College and University (also referred to as an HBCU).

According to his 247 Sports recruiting page, Roberts also had offers from eight other schools, including Power 5 options like Miami, Texas A&M, Syracuse and Colorado.

Roberts, 6-2 and 270 pounds, has been on the St. Thomas Aquinas varsity team since his freshman year and started on the offensive line each of the past two seasons, helping the Raiders win their fourth and fifth consecutive state titles — a state record. Roberts was third-team All-County for the Miami Herald in Classes 4M and 3M this year.

Ross, who graduated from Miami Carol City and was a first-team offensive lineman for the Herald in 1993, also went to an HBCU, playing football at Albany State (which had also offered Roberts a scholarship).
