Fort Lauderdale girls’ soccer standout Lily O’Neil is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
O’Neil, a senior and Florida Southern commit, had nine saves to help the Flying L’s shut out West Broward 1-0.
On the season, O’Neil has 112 saves and five shutouts on the season. Fort Lauderdale is 6-8.
Pembroke Pines Charter boys’ basketball’s Jeremy Elyzee, Chaminade-Madonna girls’ soccer’s Annabelle Rhodes and South Plantation boys’ basketball’s Harry Gelin rounded out this week’s participants.
The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
