Coral Springs cross country standout Jeffrey Belizaire is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Belizaire ran a time of 16:17.75 to become the first Colts runner in over 30 years to win the BCAA championship.
Dillard girls’ cross country’s Christiana Coleman, Cardinal Gibbons girls’ golf’s Sophia Ehret and Pembroke Pines Charter football’s Jayden Gonzalez rounded out this week’s participants.
The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
