Pine Crest volleyball standout Mia Gold is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Gold, a sophomore outside hitter, recorded 68 kills, 4.1 kills/set, 35.9-percent-kill percentage, 46 digs, 5 aces, and 3 blocks during the Nike Invitational in Wesley Chapel.

Pine Crest is 7-4 to start the season.

Chaminade-Madonna wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, Coconut Creek running back Jamarie Hostzclaw, Cardinal Gibbons quarterback Michael Merdinger and Monarch quarterback A.. Hairston rounded out this week’s participants.
