Results are in. Pines Charter softball standout voted Broward High School Athlete of the Week
Pembroke Pines Charter softball standout Megan Rasmussen is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Rasmussen, a senior, went 3 for 4 with three RBI to lead the Jaguars to a 13-6 win over Palm Beach Gardens on April 11.
On the season, Rasmussen leads Pines Charter with a .559 batting average (38 for 68) with 24 RBI, 21 runs scored, 10 doubles, three triples and three home runs. The Jaguars are 14-7 on the season.
St. Thomas Aquinas boys’ water polo’s Dylan Chaimowicz, Coral Springs Charter girls’ tennis’ Juhnyee See, Stoneman Douglas boys’ tennis’ Dennis Oliveira and Coral Springs baseball’s Daniel Aneja rounded out this week’s participants.
The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — now one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
