Results are in. Western softball standout voted Broward High School Athlete of the Week
Western softball’s Arlette Caravaca is the Broward High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Caravaca, a junior who transferred to Western this year after previously playing at Cooper City, went 5 for 6 with three home runs, six runs scored and six RBI to lead the Wildcats to wins over Cypress Bay and Pompano Beach.
On the season, Caravaca has a .500 batting average (27 for 54) with four doubles, four home runs, 23 RBI and 18 runs scored. Western is 12-3.
Dillard girls’ track and field’s Christiana Coleman, Stoneman Douglas baseball’s Devin Fitz-Gerald and American Heritage boys’ track and field’s Brandon Bennett rounded out this week’s participants.
