Douglas QB Brett Israel scores on 10-yard run for overtime victory over South Plantation
Douglas quarterback Brett Israel powered through multiple tackle attempts to score a 10-yard touchdown run on the first play of the Eagles’ overtime possession.
It gave Douglas the lead and four plays later, Vincent Prochilo secured the 27-20 victory with an interception in the back of the end zone for a win at South Plantation in a District 11-8A matchup.
The Eagles (4-1, 2-1) led 20-7 for much of the game but lost their edge after an hour-long lightning delay stopped the game with 7:54 to play in the fourth quarter. When the game resumed, Douglas’ 46-yard field-goal attempt was blocked and the Paladins (3-2, 2-1) rallied to tie the score.
