Cypress Bay’s Kole Stealy helps Lightning roll over Everglades Gators

Quarterback Kole Stealy ran for two touchdowns and threw for another as Cypress Bay (3-1, 1-1 District 12-8A) cruised to a 41-14 win over Everglades (3-2, 1-1).

Cypress Bay opened the game with 24 unanswered points to put the contest away before halftime. Running back Mike Epstein started the barrage with a 42-yard touchdown run on the game’s opening drive, and Stealy scored on a 1-yard sneak and threw a 25-yard touchdown to receiver Johnathan Atwell in the second quarter.

Stealy, who completed 9 of 15 passes for 161 yards, scored on another sneak in the third. The Lightning’s rushing attack gashed the Gators’ defense for a 308 yards on 33 carries.
