After a slow start on offense, Fort Lauderdale (2-3) got things going in the second half of its 37-14 win over West Broward (0-5) at Everglades High.
Fort Lauderdale quarterback Brandon Jackson finished the game 13 of 26 passing with three touchdown passes and 193 yards. Running back Tevin Hyatt helped jump start the Flying L’s run game, finishing with 84 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown.
Six turnovers sunk the Bobcats. One turnover was a fumble deep in their own territory in the third quarter, which was scooped up and returned for a touchdown by Fort Lauderdale linebacker Darryl Weaver.
