Fernando Mendoza’s time in limelight continues with Tonight Show appearance

Fernando Mendoza on Monday night led the Indiana Hoosiers to their first-ever football national championship with a 27-21 win over the Miami Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium.

Three days later, the quarterback, Heisman Trophy winner proud Miami Christopher Columbus High alumnus will be making his late-night television debut.

Mendoza on Thursday night will be a guest on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The show starts at 11:35 p..m. on NBC and will be available to stream starting Friday on Peacock.

Mendoza was the architect of Indiana’s offense on a team that went a perfect 16-0 on its way to a national championship. In the title game on Monday, the redshirt junior and presumptive No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft completed 16 of 27 passes for 186 yards and ran for a 12-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter that gave the Hoosiers the lead for good.

Other guests on Thursday’s episode includes actor and comedian Anthony Anderson, Nell Fisher from ”Stranger Things” and musical guest Louis Tomlinson.
