The first installment of the Miami Herald’s South Florida Top 10 rankings for baseball and softball shows a couple of defending state champions holding the top spots. Defending national champion Stoneman Douglas looks as unstoppable as ever with five quality wins notched already to lead the baseball rankings. Meanwhile, Doral Academy’s softball team is already looking strong with a new ace in the pitching circle and lead that top 10.

Here’s where the rest of the state’s best rank through Saturday’s games:
