Western flag football standout Sydney Ford is the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Ford, a senior passed for three touchdowns and ran for one while also playing lockdown defense to lead the Wildcats to their first ever state championship and the first for a Broward County team since 2006.

She was buying time with her legs, making throws. On defense, she was pulling every flag.”
