The results are in. Riviera Prep baseball standout voted Miami Herald player of the week
Riviera Prep baseball junior Eric Fernandez is the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Fernandez reached 100 career RBI this week by hitting his fourth career grand slam in a win over Sunset.
On the season, the University of Miami commit is hitting .531 with a .610 on-base percentage, 11 stolen bases, 25 runs scored, four home runs and 34 RBI as he paces a Riveira Prep team that is 12-3 on the season.
Stoneman Douglas baseball’s Roman Anthony, Palmetto girls’ tennis’ Jett Coetzee, American Heritage girls’ track and field’s Ashley Fitzgerald and South Broward boys’ volleyball’s Dagoney Stoudt were the other contenders for this week.
The Miami Herald will conduct this poll weekly, with polls opening Monday morning and closing at 10 p.m. Thursday.
