As the 2021-22 high school season draws closer to its most important stage, more notable performances by South Florida’s best athletes highlighted this past week.

This week, we continue a weekly feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in South Florida high school sports.

Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, April 7, around 10 p.m. You may vote as often as you like until then.

Roman Anthony, Stoneman Douglas, baseball: Anthony, an Ole Miss commit, went 4 for 4 with two home runs and six RBI in a 12-0 win over Westminster Christian.

Jett Coetzee, Palmetto, girls’ tennis: Coetzee won both of her No. 1 singles matches against Krop and Terra to lead the Panthers to the GMAC championship.

Eric Fernandez, Riviera Prep, baseball: Fernandez reached 100 career RBI this week by hitting his fourth career grand slam in a win over Sunset, bringing the University of Miami commit’s total this season to a state-leading 29.

Ashley Fitzgerald, American Heritage, girls’ track and field: Fitzgerald won the 3200 meter race at the University of Florida relays this weekend in Gainesville. She is ranked among the top distance runners in the state.

Dagoney Stoudt, South Broward, boys’ volleyball: Stoudt combined for 31 assists to lead the Bulldogs to wins over St. Thomas Aquinas and Chaminade-Madonna.
