The Miami Herald’s virtual All-County ceremony is live. Watch here

Even in the time of the coronavirus pandemic, the Miami Herald’s All-County Athletic Awards ceremony is continuing on like it has since 1957.

The only difference this year: We’re going virtual.

Our annual high school sports awards ceremony — sponsored by Baptist Health South Florida’s Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute and presented by the Orange Bowl — is live and can be seen below or on our Facebook and YouTube pages.

Miami Herald sports columnist Greg Cote is serving as host. Representatives from the Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins, Florida Panthers and Inter Miami will also be part of the ceremony as will Miami-Dade County Public Schools superintendent Alberto Carvalho.

On this night, we will...

Recognize our first-team athletes from Miami-Dade and Broward counties as well as our scholar-athletes.

Announce our players and coaches of the year from 16 fall and winter sports (more on the spring sports in a second), as well as our overall coaches and athletes of the year. One change starting this year: Our overall male and female coach of the year awards will now be called the Don Shula Coach of the Year awards in honor of the late Miami Dolphins coach.

Honor our latest Lifetime Achievement and Leo Suarez/Walter Krietsch Courage Award recipients.

Name our Major Sports and All-Sports Award winners.

Even though the spring sports season was canceled by the Florida High School Athletic Association, the Miami Herald will, however, be honoring the more than 2,000 seniors in those sports during the ceremony as well as in a series of stories starting Monday leading up to the banquet.
