UFC Fight Night on FOX in Tampa features ATT’s Ponzinibbio
Gente Boa Santiago Ponzinibbio of American Top Team in (South Florida) Coconut Creek fights The Crusher Court McGee in a battle of welterweights during the prelims of UFC Fight Night on FOX on Saturday, April 16 from the Amalie Arena in Tampa.
Born in La Plata, Ponzinibbio (22-3) is from Argentina. McGee (18-4) is from Ogden, Utah.
Ponzinibbio, 29, was the sole Argentine in a house full of Brazilians during The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2 in 2013. Competing against fighters from Brazil -- Argentina’s rival country -- in Brazil presented even more of a challenge, but he stepped up big time, going 4-0 to reach the finals. Ponzinibbio suffered a broken hand/arm very early in the semifinals, but that didn’t stop him. Not only did he finish the bout, but he won it by unanimous decision. He did not compete in the finals because of the injury, but he earned Fight of the Season and Knockout of the Season.
That’s also where he devised the nickname Gente Boa.
Ponzinibbio is one to watch. A hard worker, he enjoys training, and he enjoys fighting. He was born to be a fighter, and Saturday it’s time to fight.
