The Legends of Wrestling spectacular is Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Miccosukee Gaming and Resort, 500 SW 177 Ave., Miami, 33194.

There are two events: a meet-n-greet and a wrestling show.

Both will feature a rare appearance by world champ Bill Goldberg as well as TNA’s Kurt Angle, Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner. Kevin Nash, Mick Foley, Birdman Koko B. Ware, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Tyrus/Brodus Clay, Wes Brisco, The Nasty Boys (Knobbs and Sags), Jimmy Hart, and more, like WWE Hall of Famer Ricky the Dragon Steamboat.

The Roman Show caught up with Steamboat days before the big event, and he voiced his opinion on wrestlers selling their WWE Hall of Fame rings.

“You have to look at the situation and the circumstance,” Steamboat said. “I feel bad for the guys, whoever it is, unless they needed money. A lot of guys, as they get older, their hips and their knees, of course, not being able to afford hospitalization and so on, but if they are selling to get money to go buy a car, I find it disrespectful.

“People ask me what was one of the most memorable moments of my career. In 20 years of active wrestling and all the wrestling I got with [Randy] Savage, [Ric] Flair, Don Morocco, and the list goes on and on. A memorable moment was when I got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009. I look at it like I’ve done everything in my career to get that ring and recognized to be a Hall of Famer. It was a big moment for me.”

He also spoke about returning to in 2009 for Wrestlemania 25 against Chris Jericho at Reliant Stadium in Houston.

“That was a surprise to me, when I found out three [legends] would be in Wrestlemania 25. Vince [McMahon] wanted to do that because the three of us were in the first Wrestlemania, you know, Jimmy Snuka, me and Piper,” he said. “I stayed in ring shape. I worked with the guys. I’ve been fortunate my knees, back are good and was able to do things I would do when I was a lot younger. I don’t know if I’ll get back in the ring.”

He also opened up about his wish list of he would have loved to square off with in the ring.

“On my wish list, a guy I would have loved to work with in our prime would have been Shawn Michaels,” Steamboat said. “Both us would have loved to have been featured on a Wrestlemania. I enjoyed Shawn’s work. Another guy would have been Triple H. I hooked up with him in WCW, but he was just coming in. It was a TV match.”

Hear Steamboat talk about New Japan Wrestling talent coming to WWE, the promotion’s ratings and more.
