WWE will offer fans free access to the first episode of its new WWE Network original series, Breaking Ground, on the WWE Facebook page and WWE YouTube channel at noon EST on Sunday, Oct. 25.
Breaking Ground will debut in its regular WWE Network timeslot on Monday, Oct. 26 immediately following Monday Night Raw on USA Network.
Narrated by legendary actor and voiceover artist William Shatner, Breaking Ground gives viewers access to the WWE Performance Center, chronicling what it takes to become a WWE Superstar.
The 10-episode series is produced by WWE and 3 Ball Entertainment. Todd A. Nelson, Ross Weintraub, Brant Pinvidic, DJ Nurre and Jason Sklaver serve as executive producers for 3 Ball Entertainment. Kevin Dunn is executive producer for WWE.
“Ever since I tossed the legendary Jerry “The King” Lawler out of the ring, I’ve been enamored with WWE,” Shatner said in a release. “My love affair continues with the new show, Breaking Ground.”
3 Ball Entertainment co-CEOs Todd A. Nelson and Ross Weintraub added: “We’re thrilled to be in business with WWE on Breaking Ground, a show that highlights the serious athletic training, ability, and fortitude needed to be among this elite group.”
Michelle Wilson, WWE Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer, said: “We remain committed to developing premium, original content on WWE Network. Breaking Ground will give our fans unprecedented access and a look into what it takes to make it in WWE.”
William Shatner’s career as an Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning actor, director, producer, writer and recording artist spans more than 50 years. Shatner may be best known for originating the role of “Captain James T. Kirk” in the television series Star Trek, which spawned a feature film franchise where Shatner returned as Captain Kirk in seven of the Star Trek movies, one of which he directed. He also starred in The Practice and Boston Legal. On Nov. 15, Shatner will receive the Voice Arts Icon Award from The Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS).
3 Ball Entertainment is one of television’s most prolific producers of reality and non-fiction programming. 3 Ball’s series include Bar Rescue, Catch a Contractor and Sweat Inc. for Spike; LA Hair for WE tv; My Cat From Hell for Animal Planet; Kitten Bowl for Hallmark Channel; and Extreme Weight Loss for ABC, which airs as Obese in 130 countries.
