John Cena next on new ESPN, WWE weekly segment with The Coach Jonathan Coachman
ESPN SportsCenter anchor and former WWE commentator/interviewer/talent The Coach Jonathan Coachman interviewed WWE World Champ Seth Rollins on Tuesday, Oct. 13 on SportsCenter on ESPNews.
The entertaining segment quickly blossomed into a new weekly feature with The Coach interviewing WWE superstars and divas in a ring table discussion.
It’s another step in the evolution of a growing relationship between ESPN and WWE, both based in Connecticut.
The Coach is no stranger to WWE.
He provided coverage of WWE SummerSlam Weekend in August from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, culminating with SportsCenter on Sunday, Aug. 23. Utilizing social media and ESPN television, the interviews and event highlights opened a new door for the entertainment and sports leader -- via the sports entertainment power -- to reach millions of WWE fans and others.
Coachman is the perfect bridge between both major companies.
Working for WWE from 2000-08, The Coach wore many hats. His humorous segments interviewing The Rock very memorable.
The Coach will create new memories interviewing the current WWE superstars and divas on SportsCenter on ESPNews.
WWE U.S. Champ John Cena will be The Coach’s guest at 9 p.m. EST Tuesday, Oct. 20 on SportsCenter on ESPNews.
After Coachman joined ESPN, he worked with Cena on a funny ESPN video in 2009.
In 2010, he reunited with his good buddy The Rock for a skit on ESPN.
