When the entire locker room, including your bosses and trainers, walk onto the rampway applauding -- joining the elated crowd in a standing ovation -- you know you did something right.

That’s when The Boss Sasha Banks and Bayley knew just how right it was, earning the respect -- the greatest show of respect -- after their outstanding 30-minute Iron Man match in the main event of NXT TakeOver: Respect.

Following up their show stealer at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in August during SummerSlam Weekend presented quite the challenge, but the company believed Banks and Bayley could shine even brighter, thus making them the main event in their NXT title rematch on Wednesday. Oct. 7 from Full Sail Live at Full Sail University in Winter Park, near Orlando.

It marked the first time women’s wrestling main evented a WWE special, broadcast live on WWE Network. The match had all the bells and whistles with family and some special guests -- WWE Hall of Famer Lita, WWE women’s champ and former NXT women’s champ Charlotte, WWE Diva and former NXT wrestler Becky Lynch and WWE Chief Brand Office Stephanie McMahon -- seated front row.

Banks and Bayley proved worthy, hitting a grand slam while in that spotlight.

Bayley won the match with just a few seconds to spare to successfully defend her NXT women’s title, but everyone was a winner on this night: fans, NXT, WWE, wrestling and most importantly women’s wrestlers.

Their performance helped the evolution of a Divas Revolution, taking it to new heights. Their physicality, ring psychology, work rate compared to any standout match (men or women).

Males still outnumber females in this male vocation, but because of Banks and Bayley, Charlotte and Lynch, Natalya and Paige, yes Ronda Rousey and others, women and young girls are inspired to be themselves and follow their dreams. Seeing is believing, like at NXT TakeOver: Respect, and an increase in female participation in wrestling/sports entertainment is very possible, because of it.

Women, men, girls, boys, all fans in attendance witnessed something special, one of those matches, when reminisced, each can proudly say, “I was there.”

An emotional Banks and Bayley received flowers from WWE Executive Vice President Talent/Live Events/Creative Paul Triple H Levesque, a proud mastermind behind NXT. When the rampway cleared, the Four Horsewomen (Banks, Bayley, Charlotte, Lynch) were left standing. They embraced, and then Charlotte and Lynch stepped aside, leaving Banks and Bayley alone/together to receive another well deserved ovation.

If you think Banks and Bayley went above and beyond during their match, well...

After the show, Banks and Bayley -- battered, bruised, tired -- went above and beyond once again by signing autographs and posing for photos with fans waiting outside Full Sail Live.

While making those fans’ day, Banks wore Bayley’s Hugger shirt, and Bayley sported Banks’s Boss jersey. How’s that for respect.
