WOW’s ‘Jungle Grrrl’ Erica Porter is a real life superhero, battling cancer while helping others

Former WOW-Women of Wrestling Champion “Jungle Grrrl” (Erica Porter) is a breast cancer fighter, who is inspiring others, especially during October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In 2020, Porter’s life changed forever when she was diagnosed with incurable stage 4 breast cancer which had spread to her bones and lungs. More than three years later, she is still fighting and remarkably in amazing shape.

Tired of having her life revolve around things out of her control -- chemo, surgery, appointments, medications -- Porter founded the Endorphasm Foundation, named after the Richmond, Virginia gym she owns.

The foundation is focused on the scientifically proven physical, mental and emotional benefits of movement throughout the cancer process.

Working with oncologists and experts from the Cancer Exercise Training Institute (CETI), Porter is creating a comprehensive program she hopes will be a nationwide model to help people move through cancer.

Here is my video interview with former WOW champion “Jungle Grrrl” Erica Porter.

WOW -- an all women’s wrestling promotion founded by David McLane, who is the creator of the original GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) -- is seen weekly on weekend on broadcast television via ViacomCBS.

In South Florida, MY33 TV carries the 1-hour program at 11 p.m. The show features wrestling matches, of course, but also delves into the real lives of WOW’s superheroes & villains, i.e. Porter, who is a wife, a mom and a Green Bay Packers Cheesehead.

WOW is owned by Jeanie Buss, who also owns the NBA Los Angeles Lakers.

Fans can learn more about their favorite WOW superheroes and where to watch WOW in their area by going to the WOW website www.wowe.com. For WOW’s social media platforms, check out Facebook/TwitterX/Instagram/TikTok: @wowsuperheroes
