UFC history maker Pedro Munhoz of ATT talks replacing Henry Cejudo at UFC 292 on Saturday

Munhoz (20-7, 2 NC) fights Marlon “Chito” Vera (20-8-1) in a bantamweight showdown during UFC 292 (Sterling vs. O’Malley) on Saturday, Aug. 19 from TD Garden Center in Boston.

Munhoz, 26, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has fought a Who’s Who of talent in the division. This fight marks his 20th bantamweight battle in UFC, a UFC record. He won Fight of the Night four times (Cody Garbrandt, Frankie Edgar, Jimmie Rivera, Dominick Cruz and Performance of the Night three times (Russell Doane, Justin Scoggins, and Rob Font).

A very tough warriors, Munhoz went to the judges scorecards on his seven losses in UFC, three by split decision. After two losses (Dominick Cruz, Jose Aldo) and a no-contest with Sean O’Malley, Munhoz fought Chris Gutierrez in April. Needing a victory, he scored a unanimous decision, and that win led to him re-newing a contract with UFC.

At UFC 292, Munhoz replaces former double champ Henry Cejudo against Ecuador’s Vera. Cejudo withdrew form the fight in late June because of a shoulder injury.

Munhoz is always training, always ready for challenge and gladly accepted the fight. He also helps coach others at American Top Team, something he would like to do full-time when he is retired from fighting.
