Kayla Hracho of ATT took a chance, and it’s starting to pay off with Combate Global

Moving from Reading, Pennsylvania to South Florida with next to nothing, boxer Kayla Hracho took a chance.

On Saturday, April 15, she competes in MMA for Combate Global. It marks her third time competing for the impressive MMA company, founded by UFC founder Campbell McLaren.

Combate Global features fighters from around the world, representing their training center, themselves and their country. Fights are broadcast weekly on Paramount Plus (English) and Univision (Spanish) from Miami, making it a short drive for Hracho, nicknamed “Kayrock.”

Here is my video interview with Kayla “Kayrock” Hracho who discusses Combate Global, ATT, MMA, Boxing, College, Family, Philly Cheese Steak, Rocky, First Job and more.

Six years ago a then head coach at American Top Team in (South Florida) Coconut Creek saw a video of Hracho working out boxing, doing some pad work at a gym in New Jersey. He commented positively on the training, and Hracho decided to reach out to him. Next thing you know she is leaving Reading, heading to Coconut Creek.

Hracho, who competed in team sports in high school and played rugby in college, transitioned to boxing in Pennsylvania and then MMA in South Florida.

Hracho, 31, originally from Reading, Pennsylvania, is 4-4 overall in MMA and 1-1 with Combate Global. She looks to improve that mark in Combate on Saturday, April 15 against Daniela Hernandez (4-0) of Mexico at 105 pounds.

Hracho earned her degree in psychology from Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. She is working on her Master’s at Nova Southeastern University in (South Florida) Davie. She wants to fight and also help people.
