PRO WRESTLING: WWE NXT’s Alexa Bliss, Baron Corbin different but alike
NXT standouts Alexa Bliss and Baron Corbin are as different as they are similar.
On the outside, you can easily see how they contrast, but what is not visible is where the two mirror each other.
Baron Corbin is a solid 6-8, 280, a rugged biker type, physically imposing, branded by a myriad of tattoos.
Alex Bliss is a diminutive 5-0, an aerial specialist, a super cute blue fireball, trademarked by glitz and glitter -- plenty of glitter.
Corbin is a former football player. Bliss a former cheerleader and gymnast. Corbin sports a vest to the ring. Bliss a tutu.
Quite the pendulum.
The equalizers are their drive, desire and passion to be successful inside the ring and out. They train hard, learning from their coaches at the state-of-the-art WWE Performance Center in Orlando. They also share a common bond with role model efforts by helping the community. They have big hearts.
Bliss and Corbin, along with other NXT superstars, divas and staff, will participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Sunday, Oct.12 at the Bright House Network Stadium at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
Different-Same
Corbin made his vest, and Bliss designed her tutu.
Corbin wears black, and Bliss blue. Both look to leave the opposition black-n-blue.
Where Corbin enters the ring by stepping over the top rope, Bliss steps onto the bottom rope for a decent view in tag matches.
After her tag match at a recent NXT show at the Havert L. Fenn Center in Fort Pierce, Bliss made a few kids’ day by hugging and thanking them for cheering her, and then one young fan made her day by giving her a homemade drawing. Another fan also made a sign, “Bliss Your Heart.” Fans send her drawings via social media, and they even named one of her moves.
Corbin made fans’ day by power-housing his opponent.

NXT at Full Sail
With the experienced Sara Amato (Sara Del Rey) training the WWE Diva hopefuls, the progression of NXT divas is going very well. NXT Divas champ Charlotte leads a strong contingent of female talent in NXT.
NXT also features The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor), Sasha Banks, Bayley, Alexa Bliss, Tyler Breeze, Corey Graves, Adrian Neville, Mojo Rawley, Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn to name a few along with new signees Finn Balor (Fergal Devitt), Hideo Itami (Kenta Kobayashi) and Kevin Steen.
With the emergence of WWE divas and superstars like Bray Wyatt & the Wyatt Family (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan), Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Bo Dallas, Adam Rose, Xavier Woods, Rusev, Lana, Emma, Summer Rae and Paige, the company is proving that the developmental program at the WWE Performance Center, branded NXT, is working.
Rollins, an NXT alum, returns where his WWE journey began when he appears at the next NXT television tapings on Oct. 23 at Full Sail Live at Full Sail University in Winter Park, near Orlando. Meet-n-Greet is at 4 p.m. Bell time is 6:30 p.m.
