After COVID setback, ATT’s Pedro Munhoz is healthy, ready for UFC Fight Night main event

Pedro “The Young Punisher” Munhoz of American Top Team in (South Florida) Coconut Creek is ready for his main event MMA battle against former UFC champ Frankie “The Answer” Edgar on Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night on ESPN.

This much-anticipated bout originally scheduled for July 15 was postponed after Munhoz (along with some of his ATT cohorts) contracted COVID-19.

Munhoz, 33, and his family were quarantined, all infected. They were not hospitalized and made full recoveries.

Munhoz (18-4-0, 1 NC) enters the octagon on Saturday as the No.5 ranked bantamweight in a stacked UFC bantamweight division.

Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, he and his family reside in South Florida.

Munhoz recently participated in a UFC Virtual Media Day.

Edgar (22-8-1), a former UFC champ in the lightweight division and former top ranked UFC featherweight, is making his bantamweight debut. The 38-year-old fighter is from Toms River, New Jersey.

Edgar also recently participated in a UFC Virtual Media Day.
