This breakout American Top Team fighter will be featured in debut of PFL profile series

Jordan Young of South Florida’s American Top Team recently joined the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and is a top contender in the light heavyweight division.

He made the move from Bellator MMA, where he amassed an impressive 11-1 record. He lost his last fight there with a torn labrum, effecting his hip, but he makes no excuses.

After having surgery and rehab, an extensive process, he has returned to training at American Top Team, which is practicing safe sessions with small groups and regular COVID-19 testing.

Young, 25, a submission and knockout specialist, has some big plans for the 2021 PFL season.

In my audio interview with Young, he discusses PFL, Bellator, American Top Team, WWE, Iowa, South Florida, King Mo, Ryan Bader, Dan Lambert, Surgery, COVID and more.

PFL halted the 2020 campaign because of the pandemic.

PFL’s current focus is building, growing its digital platforms and streaming service as well as international expansion, and that includes Young.

He will be the featured PFL MMA fighter in a new digital series, “Prep Point,” which PFL debuts at 10 a.m. Thursday on YouTube. It will focus on his preparation, delve into his personal story and also how he is handling the pandemic.

The series will be hosted by WWE alum, singer and podcast host Lilian Garcia, a multitalented personality who is also the ring announcer for PFL.

The PFL, which has a broadcast deal with ESPN and distribution to 160 countries, is creating and expanding its video content.

PFL will return to ESPN2 in spring 2021 with another full season of high-level MMA action. After its regular season, a tournament will crown a champion in each division, and each champion will win $1-million.

Young is one of the top light heavyweight contenders.
