This talent is even bigger these days with his vintage style on Impact Wrestling

Johnny Swinger made a mark in the 1990s and early 2000s on the indies and with some big companies, but these days he is making an even bigger mark with Impact Wrestling.

Retro Johnny brings a wrestling style and fashion, reminiscent of the 80s, to Impact Wrestling, which is 8 p.m. ET Tuesdays on AXS TV.

This throwback persona is entertaining. This 45-year-old not only walks the walk but talks the talk, daddy.

Currently, Swinger is aligned with young talent Chris Bey, who wrestles Impact Wrestling X-Division champ Willie Mack for the title on July 18 on pay-per-view at Slammiversary. The special event celebrates the 18th anniversary of the company.

For his alleged antics, Swinger is barred from ringside as announced by referee Brandon Tolle.

Away from the ring, Swinger is the Ed McMahon, the Andy Richter, the Jerry Hubbard to Impact Wrestling Knockout original Madison Rayne on her Impact Wrestling interview segment Locker Room Talk on AXS TV.

Don’t just sing it, swing it.

Fresh out of the time machine, Swinger has brought his vintage style to Locker Room Talk.

In the ring, Swinger’s finishing maneuver is the Swinging Neckbreaker, daddy.

In the audio interview link just above, Johnny Swinger talks Slammiversary, Chris Bey, Mizarks, Madison Rayne, Impact Wrestling, his ring gear, VanHalen, Tony Parisi, Niagra Falls barrel and more.

More about the Swingman

Born in Niagra Falls, N.Y., Swinger made his pro wrestling debut in 1993.

Trained by Ron Hutchinson and Sweet Daddy Siki in Toronto, he became part of the faction The Syndicate, led by Scott D’Amore in Border City Wrestling in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Swinger teamed with Simon Diamond to win the NWA tag team titles in Impact Wrestling in 2003 during his first foray with the company. He and Diamond also won the Maximum Pro Wrestling tag team belts. He teamed with Glenn Gilberti and Bull Buchanan to win the Georgia Championship Wrestling tag team belts, and he teamed with D’Amore to win the Elite Wrestling Federation tag team titles.

D’Amore, who is currently the co-executive vice president of Impact Wrestling, is responsible for bringing Swinger to Impact Wrestling.

Swinger wrestled throughout North America on the indies. He also competed for ECW, WCW, WWF, and WWE and worked internationally, too.

His uncle, Tony Parisi, won the WWWF U.S. tag team titles with Spiros Arion and Johnny Valentine. Parisi, born in Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, won the WWWF World tag team titles with Gino Brito.
