This ATT Diamond in the rough is main-event ready for UFC Fight Night on ESPN
Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier (25-6, 1 NC) of American Top Team in South Florida is in the main event of UFC Fight Night on ESPN on Saturday against Dan The Hangman Hooker (20-8).
Their contest is at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Poirier, 31, who has won four of his last five fights, is coming off a loss to in September to Khabib Nurmagomedov for the undisputed UFC lightweight title.
Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, Poirier is a former UFC champ and has earned numerous Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night bonuses during his tenure with UFC.
Hooker, 30, is from Auckland, New Zealand. A winner of seven of his past eight fights, he is riding a three-match win streak. He also received three Performance of the Night and one Fight of the Night bonuses.

Poirier and his wife, Jolie, founded the Good Fight Foundation, helping others locally, nationally and internationally. Part of the fundraising, he will auction off ring gear to raise money for a cause.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Poirier’s foundation donated 1,000 meals to employees of three major hospitals in the Lafayette area.

In the co-main event, Orlando’s Mike Platinum Perry (13-6) fights Mickey Gall (6-2) of Los Angeles via Green Brook, New Jersey in a welterweight showdown.
