Living in Broward County, Lex McMahon is building, growing Titan FC MMA in South Florida

Titan FC chief operating officer Lex McMahon is pleased to announce the return of Titan FC to South Florida on Friday.

There will be no audience because of COVID-19 health concerns, but you can catch all the action as Titan FC is available via UFC Fight Pass.

An interesting man, McMahon’s journey to mixed martial arts is very interesting.

In my audio interview with McMahon, he discusses Titan FC, its return, MMA, UFC, Dana White, UFC Fight Pass, South Florida, Jeff Aronson, MC Hammer, Randy Couture, family, U.S. Marines, football, Ed McMahon and more.

McMahon, 48, was born in San Francisco and grew up in Southern California, playing sports, primarily football. He was an inside linebacker for Beverly Hills High School and played outside linebacker for West L.A. College and Santa Monica College. That’s where his NFL dream ended, but new dreams and goals began.

McMahon holds a B.A. in English from UC Santa Barbara, a J.D. from California Western School of Law and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

After completing basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, McMahon served his country on the battlegrounds of Mogadishu, Somalia, during two deployments while in the U.S. Marines in the early 1990s. His famous father, Ed McMahon — from the “Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,” “Star Search” and various commercials and businesses —- also was a U.S. Marine.

Lex McMahon currently serves on the board of directors for AHERO and The Sean Brock Foundation. Both organizations are 501(3)(c) nonprofits focused on military veteran issues.

Lex McMahon is also a businessman, an entrepreneur, a lawyer, a leader, a husband, and a father who is all about family at home and family with Titan FC MMA.

The relationship with Ed McMahon, who adopted him, would play a role in Lex’s journey into the world of MMA. Lex began helping Ed negotiate business contracts, one for an NFL Super Bowl commercial for Cash 4 Gold featuring Ed and U.S. Navy vet and entertainer MC Hammer.

The commercial was a big hit, and so was the working relationship with all parties involved. Lex, Hammer and Cash 4 Gold founder Jeff Aronson would eventually partner to sponsor fighters, including U.S. Army vet and UFC Hall-of-Famer Randy Couture.

Years later, Aronson and McMahon would dive into the MMA world in a big way, with Aronson purchasing a majority share in Titan FC and tabbing Lex as his COO.

Titan FC shows in South Florida features a bevy of up-n-coming fighters as well as former champions.

Lex worked a deal with UFC, through UFC President Dana White, to broadcast Titan FC shows via UFC Fight Pass.

The growing company is an unofficial developmental arm for UFC.

With plenty of talent training in South Florida, including at the award-winning American Top Team and Hard Knocks 365, it is cost effective and competition effective to run Titan FC shows in South Florida.

Lex McMahon and his wife, Ashley, reside in South Florida with their two daughters, Kylie and Addison, who are interested in dance and gymnastics.

Titan FC in South Florida

Titan TC generally runs shows at Xtreme Action Park in north Fort Lauderdale, off Powerline Road near Pompano Beach. It’s in the same complex as Hard Knocks 365 MMA training facility, run by Henri Hooft.

Because of COVID-19, Xtreme Action Park is not open, and Titan FC will conduct its return on Friday from another South Florida location. TBA.
