Ring of Honor stars take over WWE NXT
Good things come in threes.
At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, three former Ring of Honor stars -- Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly -- took over the show on Saturday, Aug. 19 during WWE SummerSlam Weekend from Barclays Center.
SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe and Eic Young) with Killian Dain and Nikki Cross won the NXT tag team titles by beating The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) with Paul Ellering. After the match Fish and O’Reilly attacked both teams.
Later, in the main event, Drew McIntyre beat Bobby Roode to become the new NXT Champion, but Fish, O’Reilly and the surprising Cole put an end to the victory celebration by attacking the new title holder.
Asuka retained the NXT women’s title by beating Ember Moon. No one attacked Asuka.
Aleister Black pinned Hideo Itami.
Andrade Cien Almas with help from Zelina Vega beat Johnny Gargano.
