Kudos to WWE. The Warrior Award is great way to honor the late Connor The Crusher Michalek and The Ultimate Warrior.
Both will always be remembered.
I watched the WWE tribute video to Connor a few times prior and watched it again now. My favorite moment is after Connor hits Triple H and covers him, he has the presence of mind to hook the leg.
This little guy is just 7-years-old then, battling cancer, and he is in a WWE ring with his favorite WWE superstar, Daniel Bryan, near him and many WWE superstars and divas surrounding the ring cheering. It’s a grand moment, and he hooks the leg?

Talent much older and trained may forget to hook the leg.
That is classic to me. Way to go Connor.
Aspiring pro wrestlers and all of us can learn from the many lessons of Connor Michalek, a fighting champion, a true inspiration and a deserving warrior.
About the award, recipient
Connor Michalek, a Pittsburgh native and passionate WWE fan who battled cancer, is the first recipient of The Warrior Award, which will be presented each year at the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
The announcement was made during WWE Monday Night Raw on the USA Network on March 9 from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, where in 2013 Connor met many WWE superstars and divas including his hero, Daniel Bryan.
Connor, who died last year at age 8, touched the hearts of WWE, the WWE Universe and the world.
The debuting Warrior Award is given to someone who has exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance, and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of WWE Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior. Michalek is a great first recipient of the award, representing all its characteristics.
“On behalf of my family, we are truly humbled and honored that WWE will present an award in my husband’s name each year at the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony,” Dana Warrior said in a release. “Connor displayed all of the positive traits that Warrior stood for, and he is the perfect recipient for this inaugural award. I am sure that Warrior is smiling today, knowing that this award is being given to a true warrior.”
Connor’s legacy remains as WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon co-founded Connor’s Cure Foundation.
The Ultimate Warrior’s legacy also remains. A fan favorite, especially with kids, the Ultimate Warrior was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year. A couple of days after the ceremony, upon his return home, he shockingly died. He was 54.
On Saturday, March 28 at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., the prestigious award will be presented to Steve Michalek, Connor’s dad, by The Ultimate Warrior’s widow, Dana Warrior, and WWE superstar Daniel Bryan.
Bryan became good friends with Connor, sharing time with him prior and even thanking Connor at WrestleMania 30 last year after he just won the WWE World title in the main event. Bryan left the ring during the celebration and hugged Connor who was seated ringside at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. He thanked Connor for giving him the strength to do what he does.
Being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 28 are the Macho Man Randy Savage, Alundra Blayze, The Bushwhackers (Luke and Butch), Rikishi and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The WWE Hall of Fame is part of WWE WrestleMania Week. The induction ceremony for the Class of 2015 is the night before WrestleMania 31, which is at Levi’s Stadium, home to the NFL San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, Calif.
