Why do I like NXT?

I attended my first NXT event in Gainesville, Fla. during September 2015. I have never seen so much excitement in one show.

I prefer attending NXT live events compared to the main roster live events (Raw and SmackDown), because I find that it’s easier to interact with the talent at NXT live events. I also believe that the storylines in NXT are more entertaining compared to the main roster storylines.

I have met many NXT superstars (past and present), including Finn Balor, Bayley, Baron Corbin, Jason Jordan, Chad Gable, Shinsuke Nakamura, Asuka, Austin Aries, and Tye Dillinger.

Who is my favorite NXT superstar?

My favorite NXT superstar is Dan Matha, a former football player from Erie, Pa. who had a tryout with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals and spent some time as an offensive lineman with the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes. He is very athletic for someone standing 6-foot-7. In pro wrestling, he also knows how to work the crowd, get reaction. His shiny bald head and white wrestling trunks have fans chanting, yelling Mr. Clean when he appears.

Matha, 28, who trains at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, will have a very short trip, if participating in any WrestleMania 33 Week events in late March/early April 2017, especially since Orlando, Orange County and the Central Florida Sports Commission are hosting that particular WrestleMania Week. NXT is a big part of the massive agenda, and NXT TakeOver will be in Orlando on Saturday, April 1 at the Amway Center during WrestleMania 33 Weekend. Tickets are going on sale in December.
