Miami Hurricanes land pair of commitments from Georgia prospects — and cousins
The Miami Hurricanes’ 2027 recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the best in school history.
But on Wednesday, the Hurricanes landed a pair of commitments for their recruiting class beyond this current cycle.
The two pledges: Class of 2028 four-star offensive lineman Kweli Fielder and Class of 2029 quarterback CJ Cypher, cousins from Carrollton, Georgia.
Fielder is ranked as the No. 3 interior offensive lineman and No. 59 overall prospect nationally for the Class of 2028, according to the 247Sports composite ranking. He’s listed at 6-4 and 310 pounds, holds offers from 35 schools and is a Navy All-American who was Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman at the Navy National Combine.
Cypher is not rated by 247Sports, but he holds more than 30 college offers — Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Ohio State are among that group. As a freshman at Carrollton, Cypher threw for 2,280 yards with 26 touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 71.6% of his passes.
Fielder is the second commitment in Miami’s Class of 2028, joining quarterback Knox Annis. Cypher is the first pledge in Miami’s 2029 class.
