Hurricanes’ latest blue-chip commitment? North Miami Beach’s Andre Hyppolite
The Miami Hurricanes’ 2027 recruiting class received a local boost on Sunday when four-star safety Andre Hyppolite, a standout entering his senior season at North Miami Beach, announced his pledge to UM.
Hyppolite is the sixth player from South Florida’s Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach counties to commit to Miami’s class, which has 19 total players so far, this cycle. He chose Miami over Florida, Georgia and Notre Dame, among other offers.
“THE U IM HOME !!” Hyppolite posted on his personal X account announcing his pledge. “1000% COMMITTED.”
Hyppolite, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound safety, is listed as the No. 10 safety and No. 142 player in the class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Hyppolite is a two-way player for North Miami Beach High. As a junior, he had 63 tackles and 5 interceptions on defense, and he had 32 catches for 405 yards and four touchdowns on offense.
He is the fifth defensive back in Miami’s class, joining fellow South Florida four-star safety Jaylyn Jones (McArthur) as well as three cornerbacks in Long Beach Poly (California)’s Donte Wright, Dothan (Alabama)’s Ai’King Hall and Hollywood McArthur’s Sherrod Gourdine.
Miami’s class as overall is ranked No. 2 nationally behind only Texas A&M.
