Date change for Miami Hurricanes’ home game with Virginia Tech. What to know
The Miami Hurricanes had a minor change to their 2026 football schedule.
Miami’s home game against Virginia Tech at Hard Rock Stadium has been pushed back a day, shifting from Nov. 20 (a Friday) to Nov. 21 (a Saturday), the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Friday.
The game is the second of a three-game stretch at home to conclude Miami’s season, with the Hurricanes hosting Duke the week before (Nov. 14) and ending the regular season against Boston College (Nov. 28).
Prior to the change, the Virginia Tech game was one of four games on the Hurricanes’ schedule that was set to be played on either a Thursday or Friday. Miami’s first three games are non-Saturday matchups: At Stanford (Friday, Sept. 4, 9 p.m.), home against Florida A&M (Thursday, Sept. 10) and at Wake Forest (Friday, Sept. 18).
Miami is 27-15 all-time against Virginia Tech and has won each of the past five meetings. UM beat Virginia Tech 34-17 in Blacksburg last season.
