Hurricanes land another blue-chip prospect as 2027 class continues to take shape

The Miami Hurricanes have added yet another blue-chip prospect to their 2027 recruiting class.

The latest addition: Four-star offensive lineman Sean Tatum, who on Friday announced his pledge to Miami over Auburn, Florida and Tennessee.

Tatum, out of Fort Pierce John Carroll High, is ranked as the No. 10 interior offensive lineman in the Class of 2027 by the 247Sports composite ranking. He participated in the Navy All-American Bowl as a junior. He primarily played at left tackle as a junior at John Carroll but projects to most likely play guard at the college level.

247Sports’ scouting report on Tatum, listed at 6-3.5 and 317 pounds, describes him as having “impressive mobility and power at this stage.” It also notes that he “thrives when in attack mode as he charges forward and he plows targets” and will try to clamp down in pass sets and turn them into run sets.”

Tatum is the ninth commitment in Miami’s 2027 class. He joins five-star Miami Carol City wide receiver Nick Lennear, four-star Arlington Heights (Illinois) Montini Catholic quarterback Israel Abrams, four-star Hollywood McArthur safety Jaylyn Jones, four-star Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons edge rusher Demarcus Deroche, four-star Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens, three-star McArthur cornerback Sherrod Gourdine, three-star Wellington Palm Beach Central offensive tackle Zaquan Linton and three-star Key West defensive lineman Josh Johnson.
